TORONTO, February 1, 2011 – Suped-up red convertibles may impress your mates, but they won’t make your Valentine’s heart race and cheeks flush like a top-of-the-line gourmet kitchen, according to new research by luxury appliance brand Thermador.
The Thermador Valentine’s Day Poll found the vast majority of Canadian women (83%) are more impressed by a luxury kitchen in her suitor’s pad than a fancy car in his garage (17%). In fact, 61% of women said a beautiful kitchen would better help them decide whether to “heat things up” in a relationship than a romantic bedroom (38%) or flashy garage (1%).
“Not only is a well-designed and outfitted kitchen a great way to impress your date, it will also help strengthen your home’s resale value. You can knock thousands of dollars off the value of a new car as soon as you drive it out of the dealership, but investing in a beautiful kitchen with quality appliances will only increase the beauty and the value of your home,” said Steve Preiner, Director of Marketing for Thermador.
If you are looking for a first date to turn into a second, then renovating your kitchen and installing luxury handcrafted appliances is the way to go. According to the Thermador Valentine’s Day Poll, although they might dream of Prince Charming in his luxurious kitchen, the majority of women said their current partner or crush had a less than desirable cooking space (53%). So gentlemen, before you blow your bonus on a hot ride to impress a girl, invest your money where it counts.
But is it enough to merely have an impressive kitchen? According to the poll, being a connoisseur in the kitchen will also increase your likelihood of a second date.
Preiner said bachelors and boyfriends keen to impress should invest in sophisticated luxurious kitchen brands like Thermador.
“A Thermador kitchen is a lavish combination of function and form, boasting sleek and sophisticated high-performance appliances. Installing Thermador appliances will transform your humble kitchen into a striking and stylish centrepiece of your home. From Pro Ranges and cooktops with the exclusive Star® Burner, to the new Steam Oven with European convection, Thermador products are designed to impress and to make your cooking easier, faster, tastier and more enjoyable,” Preiner said.
