Stained Wood Cabinets: The return of stained wood cabinets is on the rise, offering a warm and sustainable option that ages beautifully over time. White oak and walnut are the highest trending wood species as they do well in both modern and traditional settings. Note the textural flute or reed detailing above the paneled refrigeration wall in this lovely kitchen.

All Things Green: The colour green embodies renewal, rejuvenation, and energy, and today it's more than a passing trend in all aspects of design. Shades of green, from soft sage to bold hunter green, for walls, cabinets and tile tiles, will create a fresh verdant and natural feel in any style of kitchen.

Sinks That Work Harder: Sinks are becoming more functional with accessories like cutting boards, and colanders for efficient use of space. Workstation sinks feature flexible, separate stations for washing fruits and vegetables, cutting and chopping, and washing and drying dishes freeing up countertop space and reducing mess. White quartz and quartzite tops featuring a subtle gray veining pattern are extremely durable, food-safe, easy clean and come in wide range of designs and finishes to complement stainless steel appliances and fixtures.

Speed Is Key: Speed Ovens and induction cooktops and ranges are gaining popularity for their sleek design, energy efficiency and speed. Thermador’s WIFI-enabled fully-flush induction range (shown here) and frameless Induction cooktops heat fast and cool quickly, making them smart and safe choices for busy families with young kids. Their sleek designs allow them to seamlessly integrate into the cabinetry and countertops for easy cleaning.

The Thermador built-in Speed Ovens combine the power of a microwave with the performance of a Convection Oven making them game-changers when it comes to saving time in the kitchen. These high-speed ovens can cook food quickly and evenly, without sacrificing flavour.
7.
Drawers in Lieu of Lower Cabinets: The lack of upper cabinets in kitchen design will continue to be a popular design choice making the need for lower cabinets to pick up the slack. Designing large soft-close drawers in lieu of lower cabinets make organizing and accessing stacks of dishes and pots and pans much easier.

Minimal Backsplashes: Simplified backsplashes using large slabs of quartz, quartzite, and porcelain create a striking focal point. Who wouldn’t love a sleek grout-free backsplash that’s easy to clean?
