After white, blue is probably one of the most popular kitchen colors today. From moody midnight blue to sparkling ocean blue and soft sky blue this classic hue is calming and offers a lovely way to add understated colour to the kitchen. A design that incorporates a blue palette for walls, backsplashes or cabinets, can give this busy and sometimes stressful space a cool, calm and collected vibe that works with any style.

Recently, colour experts and designers have been exploring the benefits of blue spaces scientifically finding that they offer health benefits such as relieving stress and depression. For most of us, any remedy, especially one as simple as decorating with a soothing blue colour palette, that might help us cope with the anxiety and stress we all face is appreciated.

These days, our attraction to and awareness of nature around us has been heightened and whether we realize it or not, has become our coping method for getting through all the noise and chaos of our daily lives. We all love the sense of calm we feel when swimming in the lake or taking a care-free walk under a clear blue sky. It just makes good sense to set the tone in our busy kitchens with a splash of soothing nature-inspired blue!

Here are some inspiring blue-hue looks I think you’ll love!
